Green Lantern Corps was really awesome. It seems John has the most issues as of recent. Blowing up Mogo and now this. Descent into madness maybe? He definitely seems somehwat unstable. I miss Mogo. And whatever happened to him hooking up with Fatality? They teased that in Agent Orange and I don't think its been brought back up. I thought that was a really cool idea. It seems that the GL story has been completely intact with the New 52. So Mogo is still dead. Now, regarding The Flash, I am happy that they are keeping Wally's history intact, as I really enjoy him and his children. Though, I must say that I a huge fan of Barry as the Flash. My Flash jumping on point was right in the midst of his return, and after reading Blackest Night, Rebirth, Flashpoint, and the current ongoing,so Barry is the Flash to me. I am curious to see how they re-introduce Wally, and I hope that his son Jai either has his powers, or that they deal with that.

First off, id like to say that I love the podcast. I have to point out though that Martian Manhunter is recognized in the new 52 universe as a member of the Justice League. In the first issue of Stormwatch, Apollo says he recognizes him from the Justice League. Martian Manhunter then replies, "I am known in some quarters as a hero, but when I need to be a warrior, I do it with Stormwatch"

I really like this book, thought I do find the 2 earth Red Lanterns somewhat unecessary. Then again. DexStarr seems to be in the red equivalent of the green's honor guard. I really like how they introduced the charatcer, though his name is the Star Wars alien that Jabba sicks on Luke in Returnnof the Jedi.

I agree Matt, books should be defended, even if its based on a personal bias. David has Hawk and Dove, and does a good job of pointing out both sides of the argument, while still defending his love of the book. If you love a character, then love the character, no matter the book. I know David has a special place in his heart for both Hawk and Dove, as well as Red Lanterns (which is surprisingly awesome) and while one of the books is sub-par, he still stands by them. You gotta respect that. Also, if someone wants to talk the Flash, Barry is my Flash. Hes the one I was first introduced to, just as Hal is my GL. Flash is also one of my favorite books right and while I know that plenty of people disagree with me, I still love the book and will defend it to no end. So David, while I didn't particularly care for Hawk and Dove, I certainly see your view, and more power to ya.

Good points and a fun read David. I did not pick up Hawk and Dove myself, I read a little bit about them in Blackest Night and Brightest Day but neither of them really did it for me. I would give the series a chance, but I think I am just going to wait for the trade to come out, or borrow it from someone. It is nice to see you defend it though, books that YOU love should be defended. Last week in Comic Club I heard someone defend Barry Allen as the Flash so much, I was shocked. I like him as the Flash as well, I just was amazed at how much of a defense he was putting up. I am a huge fan of Aquaman, and I usually try to grab whatever I can of his when I see it, most people do not feel the same. I say he is an A level superhero, others say no, to them I say....think what you want..and in the back of my mind..I say..but you are wrong. mwhahh. Great read though! Keep writing!

Haha. Its not that I didn't enjoy the issue, its just that I didn't like the story being broken up. It was entertaining and all, and I completely agree that it was a good filler, I just didn't enjoy the Tights movie anywhere near as much as the rest of the book. And while you say the book was to let Foreman catch up on art, it seemed to me that it was to let Swamp Thing's story get to the point where the two stories meet. I do agree that the way the art was handled in this issue was really well done with the transitioning. I really enjoyed like how even though there were two artists, Buddy was very recognizable. While my review was negative, I still enjoyed the book, after listening tot this I re-read it and I do see your points, such as the parallel between Buddy and Chas, and how Buddy could become Chas. After my first read, I felt like I just read a rip-off of KICK-ASS, but I do see your points. I also now realize how Cliff could have some issues with Maxine having powers. It's very similar to Wally West's kids, Iris and Jai, and how Iris was able to keep her powers and Jai was not, and from then on Jai seemed very distant. Hopefully Buddy does not have the same problems with Cliff.

Oh Avry!, I disagree with you on the Animal Man story, I see your points though, and you could be right about the stalling for Swamp Thing, but I think it was a story to show how his real child, the one with out powers feels a lot like the one in the movie. Left out of his fathers life, and he doesn't feel that special. Because it seems Animal Man is a story about his whole family not just Buddy. As for Action Comics, I personally loved the break and the story on how he met the Legion, because I knew nothing originally about that story, so it was fun for me. Great review though, I love hearing your thoughts, because they do point out some great points that I usually don't see. I agree with both you an Aaron though..do NOT start reading Animal Man with this book, start with #1, and work you way up, it is worth it!

Avry, I thought the issue served as a good reflection of potential inferiority Buddy may feel with his daughter's newfound powers. Even in "the Last Days of Animal Man," Buddy feeling worthless without his powers is a common theme. I think if new readers started with this issue, they'd hate it; however, I think Lemire wanted this issue to serve as a sort of exhale for regular readers. I quite enjoyed it and though I agree with you on nearly everything you've posted, I disagree on this one case. I absolutely agree that this series is all kinds of awesome and I also always enjoy reading your reviews!

PS, I didn't like the break in Action either until I saw it was with Legionnaires!
